Annual Meeting – Dinner and Program Sign Up DEADLINE FRIDAY SEPT. 29

Our Annual Dinner Meeting and Program will be held on October 6TH at 6:00PM at the First Congregational Church, Mansfield Center

Reservations for the dinner must be submitted by September 29TH in order to facilitate a final head count for the event. Many seats are still available, and a reservation can be made by contacting Ann Galonska by calling the museum at (860) 429-6575, or by email.

We hope you will join us for an evening of fine food and entertainment. Following dinner and a brief business meeting, Tom Callinan will regale us with a program of diverse songs from Connecticut’s past and present. He will draw upon his extensive repertoire of folksongs, sea chanteys, popular songs and tunes from a variety of times and places, as well as his own original compositions.

A former Connecticut junior high school teacher, Callinan launched his full-time career in the creative and performing arts in 1977. He was designated Connecticut’s first “Official State Troubadour” in 1991 and was named a Master Teaching Artist by the Connecticut Commission on the Arts in 1995. Annually he presents several hundred performances for tens of thousands of people, spanning nursery schools through nursing homes.

He is well-known for his entertaining and informative narrative style that engages his audiences with catchy choruses, interesting anecdotes, and an assortment of musical instruments. Prepare to have fun!

The dinner is $18.00 dollars per person and includes the $4 dollar admission fee. Entree choice is either salmon or vegetable lasagna. The meal also includes appetizers, salad, side dishes, bread and dessert.

Those who wish to attend the PROGRAM ONLY should arrive by 7:30 p.m. There will be an admission fee at the door of $4.00 for MHS members and students or $5.00/non-members for those who are not attending the dinner.
